Highlights from our 2018 2-Day Patient Conference including a recording of Sunday's keynote speaker, Anne Pariser, MD from NIH.

June 2018 - Oleg Akilov, MD, PhD shares recommendations for how to care for your skin when you have cutaneous lymphoma. Dr. Akilov provides practical information related to soaps, shampoos and moisturizers, lotions and ointments. Dr. Akilov is the Director of the Cutaneous Lymphoma Program and Extracorporeal Photopheresis Unit at the University of Pittsburgh.

May 2018 - Oncology social worker Leora Lowenthal joined CLF's Susan Thornton to discuss Patient Empowerment: practical and informative presentation on why and how to connect with oncology social services, and how to empower yourself when living with cutaneous lymphoma. Ms. Lowenthal is a senior clinical social worker at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

April 2018: Dr. Cecilia Larocca and Marianne Tawa, RN, MSN, ANP, provide a "101" course in the clinical trials, sharing important information to consider if you are interested in participating in a trial. Dr. Larocca and Ms. Tawa are from the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

March 2018: Dr. Lauren Pinter-Brown provides guidance on choosing the type of specialist (dermatologist vs oncologist) to see when diagnosed with cutaneous lymphoma. Dr. Pinter-Brown also responded to questions on treatments, diet, staging and other areas of concern. Dr. Pinter-Brown is hematologic oncologist at UC Irvine Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. Within her practice, she has a particular focus on T-cell and skin lymphomas.

February 2018: Dr. John O'Malley discusses research on the risk of disease progression in cutaneous lymphoma (including Mycosis Fungoides and Sezary Syndrome), and how itch and infections are treated. Dr. O'Malley is a Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Dana-Farber Institute and Harvard Medical School.

January 2018 - Dr. Larisa Geskin shares important NEW information related to flu and shingles vaccinations, an overview of light therapy treatments including PUVA and UVB, as well as the "FLASH" clinical trial. Dr. Geskin is the Director of the Comprehensive Skin Care Center at Columbia University.

December 2017 - Dr. Pierluigi Porcu of the Jefferson University Hospital, shares information from the 2017 American Society of Hematology (ASH) annual medical meeting. He also discussed the recent FDA approval of Brentuximab for the treatment of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma in the United States. Also the results from the Phase 3 clinical trial of Mogamulizumab and of the MRG-106 trial.

October 2017 - The Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation welcomed Dr. Ellen Kim as our first guest on our new Facebook livestream program, Facebook Live. CLF CEO Susan Thornton interviewed Dr. Kim who shared news and insights on therapies and clinical trials, diagnostics and biomarkers, and quality of life! Dr. Kim is the Assistant Director of the Penn Cutaneous Program at the University of Pennsylvania.

November 2017 - Sue McCann, MSN, RN, DNC joined Susan Thornton, CEO of the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation for a CLF Facebook Live event to discuss care giving and quality of life best practices. Sue is a Programmatic Nurse Specialist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
